The StudyFetch Blog is Getting a Makeover!

We’re going to have a lot of fun with this blog but we’re also going to talk about some very serious issues surrounding AI in education. It's going to be a hell of a ride so welcome aboard and strap in because we're just getting started!

Hi, my name is Sam Whitaker. I'm the Vice President of Social Impact and Strategic Initiatives here at StudyFetch. I do a lot of things here but my main focus is on getting the best technology into the hands of students who need it the most. As of today, I'm also the new StudyFetch blog post writer person.

If you've been keeping up with our blog (yes, I'm talking to you three) I'm sure you've noticed it's been a little bit on the dry side...

Whelp, that all changes now!

The header images are going to be pictures of my dogs because I love two of them dearly and love/tolerate the third. Left to right they're Margot (love), Walter (love/tolerate), and ... wait for it... Sister Mary Frances (love and yes that's her name).

Margot and SMF are both blind, deaf and toothless old ladies and Walter is a very sweet pain in the butt four year old.

Speaking of dogs, you may notice our mascot is an adorable puppy named Spark.E. I’ll talk a lot about him in future posts and I’ll also tell you about the living, breathing, full of boundless energy, belly rub-loving Sparky who calls our office his home! (That’s called a teaser for those of you who aren’t in the biz…)

Now, let's talk about StudyFetch and why I do what I do.

StudyFetch is different not only from other EdTech companies but companies in general. Our primary focus, the mission that supersedes everything else, is helping every student, everywhere learn. We believe in equality of opportunity for every student, everywhere. We believe AI can transform education for every student everywhere and we're not going to stop until it's a reality.

A lot of companies say stuff like that but they don't back it up. We back it up every single day.

We could have made a lot of money building the best cheating platform in the world. There are more than a few "learning" platforms that have done exactly that with tools like "homework solver" and chats that just write essays and solve problems for students.

That ain't us.

We're never going to give students the answer. We're never going to write the essay for them. StudyFetch will always act as a tutor; guiding students to answers and helping them the way an infinitely patient teacher would.

We're at a precarious time right now both in education and in society as a whole. AI has so much potential to be a force for good but, as Uncle Ben said,” with great power comes great responsibility.” We have one shot to do this right or it really could be a Wall-E future for all of us.

StudyFetch has been doing it right pretty much since the start of this AI craziness and we're not stopping.

We’re going to have a lot of fun with this blog but we’re also going to talk about some very serious issues surrounding AI in education. We know how important what we’re doing is but it doesn’t mean we can’t have some fun while we’re doing it!

It's going to be a hell of a ride so welcome aboard and strap in because we're just getting started!
